It will download holiday or promotion-themed icons and stickers and will replace shortcut buttons on the toolbar of the keyboard with these until they are clicked at least once. A lot of apps do this, obviously– assets for internal app use and that– but my keyboard app does this to an annoying degree. I have a few apps on my phone that regularly download media without my permission. I also don't mind if the app is available on Google Play or one of the other markets (or just downloadable from a website) as long as it meets requirements. If it's relevant, I am using a rooted phone running on Android 7.0 at the moment, although it is almost time to upgrade and my number one choice is not and may never be rootable. I guess I'm looking for a firewall more than a network monitor, but it needs to be able to have very specific rules.
